Hello,
during the tests I found a log entry like the following:[9:29:28 AM] mecAS2-1149839168061-97729@as2_tester1_as2_tester2: Outgoing message packed.
I did not found any option to enable or disable this option. Due to the fact that the AS2 Standard RFC 4130 - MIME-Based Secure Peer-to-Peer Business Data Interchange Using HTTP, Applicability Statement 2 (AS2) does not define any packing, this should be an optional functionality.
Another point is that you don't have a benefit by packing small files. The packed files have quite the same size as unpacked, so it is not nessasary to waste CPU time in such cases.
Due to the fact that this option is implemented and works fine between two m-e-c AS2 Server and it is not mentioned in the documentation, it will be nice to know which packing algorithm is used. This information will be needed if you connect from your m-e-c AS2 Server to an business partner, who is using an other AS2 product. Then this partner needs to know which parameters he has to use to unpack the incoming message, and whether he needs to pack the messages he will send to the m-e-c AS2 Server or does m-e-c AS2 accepted unpacked messages also.
Tobias,
The data will not be compressed or modified in any way. This seems to be a missleading log entry, better would be "Outgoing message created".
Regards
Heller
