Hello,
I have a partner who have two instances of an AS2 software. One for test, and another for production.
The two instances have a different URLs but have the same AS2 Id.
I cannot succeed in configuring those two partner profiles. Mendenlson AS2 OpenSource just not let me enter two partners with the same AS2 Id. Since AS2 Ids are something that are given to you, it can happen to be forced to have several partners with the same AS2 Ids. It shouldn't a problem if the URLs or certificates are different.
Is there a way to workaround this?
If there isn't, is it possible to have this feature in the wish list?
Regards,
Vincent
vbi,
I my opinion it is a requirement to prevent two identical AS2 ids in a single system and at the moment I see no possibility to change this in the future.
The AS2 id is the only identification of the message sender for inbound messages . How should it be possible to identify the partner of inbound messages if this is identical for two partners?
But I may be wrong, perhaps there exists an idea how to deal with this?

Can you run multiply instances of MEC on your side (with config changes) , look at virtual IPs or maybe do it inside virtual machines.
Wouldn't it be easier to have the partner change his test config?
@Heller: The production and test servers belong to the same company, so it really isn't essential to know which of the two servers the inbound data came from.
The program currently recognizes two types of partner setup--"local station", or not. How about a third type--"test partner" or something like that? The "test partner" would have to have a matching production partner.
This would be a solution to a question I posed earlier about cloning a partner setup to make it easier to create production and test setups for the same partner, where most of the entries on the eight tabs will be the same.
@Prost: No, I can't dictate to the trading partner. His setup works for everybody else.
@vbi: When I saw that I could not save two partner setups with the same AS2 ID, I tried adding a trailing space to one of them. That did let me save. I don't know how it will work in practice, though. I haven't progressed as far as sending or receiving yet. If you try it, please let me know how it works for you.
neilparks1,
we will think about the idea with the test partner flag. I am not sure so far how to solve this because our strategy is to keep the product as simple as we could in the user interface.
Setting up AS2 connections with all the confusing security issues is already hard enough for the customers....
